Greater Manchester’s new Metrolink trams are beginning to take shape and are currently in production. Greater Manchester Passenger Transport Executive (GMPTE) has ordered 40 trams from leading manufacturer, Bombardier, to run on both the existing system and the 20 miles of new Metrolink lines.
The new trams will offer a brighter landscape to travelling, with yellow and silver stripes and full-length glass double doors. 200 passengers will be able to travel on each of the trams, and with 27 new stops across the city, it’s even easy to hop on!
