Skyride Manchester will take place throughout the city centre on Sunday 2 August, 10am – 4pm.
It is a non-competitive, mass participation, free cycling event involving 11.5 km of traffic-free roads, starting in the city centre and heading out to the Manchester Velodrome.
As the home of British cycling, this is an important, high profile event for the city of Manchester and, as part of the route, Piccadilly is pleased to be involved!
It is hoped that Skyride Manchester will engage local communities in cycling, to keep fit and consider bikes as a greener, fitter way to travel in the future. The city is working in partnership with British Cycling and its partner, Sky, to achieve these aims.
Skyride Manchester's aim is to introduce the people of Manchester to cycling around the city through a 'hands on', enjoyable and safe experience.
Throughout the event there are to be a number of road closures throughout the city centre, which may impact residents, shoppers and businesses.
Take advantage of some city centre traffic-free roads; grab your bike and improve your fitness in one fell swoop!
