GO Italy ‘Dreamboys’ talk pizza, pasta and Piccadilly!

Following on from Piccadillymanchester.com’s recent interview with GO Italy’s owner, Tim Entwistle, in which he mentioned the Go Italy ‘Dreamboys’, it seemed only fair that we should interview said boys. So we met up with Kristian and Anas to see what all the fuss was about…

How do you feel when customers compare GO Italy to other, larger brands?

A: We’re proud that we are being compared with some of the other big brands, but all our customers prefer the higher quality of toppings we offer; for example Wiltshire Roast Ham, Halal chicken and pepperoni, sun-blushed tomatoes in garlic and loads more! We work in a really cool environment, with amazing pictures from around Naples and the best music throughout the day.

What do you say to customers who say ‘I never eat pizza, it’s too unhealthy’?

K: It drives us crazy! This is just a myth; the American thick base pizzas with loads of cheese on and poor quality toppings are unhealthy, but here at GO Italy we make our pizzas like the Italians do, nice and thin and crispy, using only the best quality toppings. You can have as much or as little cheese as you like, use our low fat option or have none at all! You design it and I’ll make it; it’s that simple!

What is the best part of your job?

K: I love meeting people, so this job is perfect for that, everyone is very friendly - especially the girls! It’s also nice when you see so many people enjoying our products and leaving nothing on the tables. The atmosphere in the place is great, with people coming in for a beer and a bite to eat after to work, or just to chill.

A: Also, we get to eat here for free which is a major perk of the job!

What do you think of the Piccadilly area of Manchester? Are you local? If not, what made you move to Manchester?

K: I like that it’s full of people from all over the world and from all walks of life. It is a very diverse place to work in. I’m actually from Poland but have spent many years in Italy with my mother who is Italian, so working here is perfect for me! I used to work at GO over in Liverpool Airport and the owners asked me to come over to train the new staff. I liked it here so much I decided to stay.

Sell GO Italy to me; why should I choose GO over all the other food outlets in Piccadilly?

A: That’s an easy one to answer; firstly no one in the world can make a fresh pizza in 60 seconds! Secondly we have something for everyone; pizza, baguettes, pasta, jackets, salads…Also we pride ourselves on giving a great service and amazing prices. Finally, just look around you, it’s a great place to get away from your desk or lecture room and come and have an amazing lunch or dinner!

So there you have it; the lovely Kristian and Anas (calm down ladies!) really believe in the GO Italy brand. And who can blame them? After many trips to the establishment, it’s safe to say piccadillymanchester.com staff have been converted to the Italian way of life!
