GO Italy owner speaks out about all things Italian in Piccadilly

Piccadillymanchester.com recently caught up with Tim Entwistle, owner of one of Piccadilly’s newest retail outlets, GO Italy to ask him all about his Italian dream and Piccadilly vision...

Hi Tim. Why not ease us in and tell us a bit about GO Italy and what you hope to achieve with the business?

GO Italy is a brand new Italian concept food outlet, which is all about high quality, fresh food that is served in seconds. GO Italy started in Liverpool Airport in November 2007 and we have been itching to get into our hometown of Manchester ever since. We hope to slowly expand in the Manchester area and gain a foothold in this competitive market and then branch out across the rest of the UK. With pizza, baguettes and pasta as our core products, we feel we have something for everyone.

We will know Manchester has a plethora of food outlets and competition is fierce; so what sets GO Italy apart from the other food outlets in Manchester?

We really wanted to bring something new to the casual dining market; nobody in the world can deliver fresh, made to order pizza in 60 seconds! It gives people who simply do not have the time or inclination to sit and wait for their meal a custom-designed quality food option instead of the usual ‘grab and go’ stuff. Our philosophy at GO Italy is simple; fast, fresh food at great prices and all in a relaxed atmosphere, with the friendliest service in town!

Why did you choose Piccadilly as the location for GO Italy?

We had to find an area which had great footfall and a prominent position, so Piccadilly is ideal. There is a constant flow of people passing by due to the bus station and Metrolink being so close, and the nearby office workers provide us with an ideal market to work with. We are right beneath City Tower and the giant media screen so we are easily found and have a brand new fully-glazed unit, allowing people to see our Italian counter and interior design.
We feel the area is going to benefit from Bruntwood’s investment in its buildings and subsequently attracting high quality tenants.

How are you finding being a member of the Piccadilly Partnership?

We genuinely enjoy being a part of it; it’s a great way to get our message out and promote the various promotions we constantly have available. It is a perfect marketing partner for us as we know it is very targeted to customers and retailers in the immediate vicinity of our shop.
Recently, GO Italy has started stocking the Piccadilly Loyalty Cards, so people can come into the shop, pick up a card and use it there and then. It’s an absolute no brainer for our customers to join up as it gives them 20% off their total food bill.

The Piccadilly area is aiming high; what do you think the area could really benefit from?

The area needs more quality shops moving in and City Tower needs to replicate what has happened around 1 Piccadilly Gardens building and New York Street. Some great improvements have been made in partnership with the Police who are determined to improve the area at night and make the whole area safer. I really think this bodes well for the future of Piccadilly.

GO Italy is currently offering you perfect pasta in an instant for just £2.95 – hurry though; this offer is only available until Friday 31st July! Click HERE to print off your voucher
