Partner Profile - Claire Leaman, MPG Digital

Name: Claire Leaman

Home Town: Stockport

Company: MPG

Job Title: Business Development & Account Manager

Job Description:

The MPG Group incorporates three divisions; MPG Print, MPG Gateway and MPG Products. I joined MPG in August 2008 and currently manage approximately forty accounts whilst also developing new business opportunities. I proactively seek new business opportunities - you will probably recognise me from being out and about the city centre, as I’m always dropping off brochures and attending networking events! My role has a number of responsibilities; overall I am an extension to my customers’ organisation, overseeing their jobs, ensuring deadlines are met and making sure the quality of work is of the highest standard. I love meeting new people and making sure they are happy with the service that MPG provide. Team work is key to the job, I have to work closely with all of my colleagues; this adds to the success of MPG and gives me even more job satisfaction.

What is the best part of your job?

Customer service/building relationships - I want to give the best service possible to all our clients ensuring they are happy with the service we provide and the quality of work. I want MPG to be recognised as the best in the industry and have joined the organisation at a very exciting time.

What are your thoughts on Piccadilly Manchester?

A thriving, up and coming area with lots of potential now and in the future. It has something to offer everyone. The redevelopment over the past few years has dramatically changed Piccadilly into a vibrant and exciting part of the city centre.

Businesses from other parts of the city are relocating to brand new premises such as 3 Piccadilly or to restored warehouses such as Carver’s Warehouse, making this a highly sought after area. The nightlife has also improved with quirky café bars and restaurants attracting some of the Deansgate socialites. I feel the area is now one of the main attractions in the city centre.
How are you finding being a member of the Piccadilly Partnership?
Great and really unlike other memberships or networking organisations. The members are friendly and approachable and I actually enjoy going along to Piccadilly Partnership events. It’s also good to know that MPG is supporting the area within which they are located; it’s good to be involved and have the opportunity to make a difference.

Why did you choose Piccadilly over other areas in Manchester?

The area holds lots of potential and is a fantastic city centre location, which makes for easy access across the city and the region. When MPG opened on Dale Street 13 years ago it was apparent the area was run down and in desperate need of restoration. Instead of dwelling on the negatives we decided to focus on the positive aspects, playing a real role in Piccadilly becoming what it is today. We believe Piccadilly provides lots of opportunities and as a result of the recent developments and businesses moving in to the area, it is definitely proving itself. MPG are going from strength to strength.
